ReelMusicOnline: Good day to all who venture to read this user profile. The following profile is copied from my latest book, "In the Wastelands", which will be released next year: Martin Dougherty was born in Southern California in 1982, the seventh of eight children to parents Thomas and Mary Dougherty. He attended Southwestern College, where he studied journalism and music. He also operated ReelMusic Magazine with his brothers Michael and Christopher, in addition to writing reviews for the magazine, Film Score Monthly. His film score passion has allowed him to meet some of the greats in the industry such as Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, Larry Groupé and Don Davis. Martin moved to Texas in the fall of 2005 and for several years worked retail sales and part-time graphic design work for a local elementary school. He joined the University of North Texas in the fall of 2009. He has a major in English, with an emphasis in creative writing, and a dual minor in Music and Latin. “Wastelands” is Martin’s third book, after “The UNT Main Auditorium” and "Weekend in the Woods."
